Why Diffuse Essential Oils?

SmilesThat’s really two questions, isn’t it? Why use essential oils and why use them by diffusing them? Let’s start with the first question.

Why Use Essential Oils?

I use essential oils because they help to bring the body into balance, calm and ground you, raise your frequency and clear toxins out of your system. They also freshen the air you breathe and make you feel good. Essential oils are smiles in a bottle!

Why Diffuse Essential Oils?

There are three Schools of Aromatherapy, three different ways to use them, the English School which advocates diluting the essential oil and using it in a massage; the French model which uses the oils without a carrier oil and via ingestion and the German school which focuses on the inhalation method.  Each application method affects the body in a different way. To simplify the decision of how to use essential oils, ask yourself what it is you want to effect.

For instance, if you have a sore muscle or a burn, you can use the topical application. If it is a digestive issue ingestion will serve you better and if you want to affect how you feel then inhalation is your best approach.

When an essential oil is inhaled it reaches the centre of the brain within seconds. Research has shown that essential oils can have a profound effect on the hypothalamus and the limbic system, systems that control hormones, emotions and reason. When you can smell something and begin immediately to feel calm or happy that’s a wonderful benefit all by itself.

And when you feel calm and happy you are much more able to handle whatever life throws at you in a day.

Inhaling different essentials regularly, via a Terra Cotta Pendant diffuser necklace, can’t change the way your day goes but it can affect your ability, energy and resources to handle it. If you want to test this for yourself, use the method described here and test different oils on a Terra Cotta Pendant to measure the results yourself!
