Do Essential Oils Help Mental Exhaustion and Burnout?

This small pilot study suggests that yes! They can!

In this study, essential oils of peppermint, basil, and helichrysum were used on a personal inhaler, you know, like a Terra Cotta Pendant diffuser necklace! It was a double-blind pilot study where half the participants inhaled rose water and the other half inhaled the mixture of peppermint, basil and helichrysum.

Results of the qualitative questionnaire filled out after the trial period showed that participants who had been inhaling the essential oils – for five days – reported a much greater reduction in mental exhaustion and moderate burnout.

This doesn’t surprise me and it won’t surprise you if you’ve used the Rating Form described on this article. Inhaling essential oils diffused with a wearable diffuser (with no need to un-pocket and sniff – it just diffuses into your personal breathing space constantly) has a surprisingly positive affect on your energy, mood, confidence, pain level and mental clarity.

The beauty of this now scientifically-supported discovery is that you can choose your mood and diffuse the essential oil you want on your diffuser necklace. Try it for a few days after noting your before-trial levels (use the rating form) and see the difference when you record your after-trial levels.

Aromatherapy is much more than just pretty aromas! Breathing in essential oils makes a positive difference in your life!
